Got a good run at it over the last few days. Reset the valve clearence, replaced six shims. Only two were out of spec, 0.035mm and 0.04mm on 3 & 4 inlets. Four others were a bit on the narrow side so I widened them. Now all are around 0.12mm. Had to buy a new torque wrench as my trusty W & B was at it lower limits. Its almost small enough to use as a key fob. see pics.
Ive got the crank case back together, oil pump and sump tomorrow. Just a little note for people like me ( rebuild virgins ) take it steady and double check every thing, if it doesnt seem right it's probably not. Eg, dont try and turn the motor without the return spring on the kick start shaft, things get stuck!
Cheers all...
