    Default KLX250 carby mod

    Hi,
I have just purchased a 2006 KLX250 and have been reading about the various modifications. Can someone tell me if this is the carby slide and holes that get filled? A picture is worth a thousand words.

its called a de restrictor. get liquid steel and fill up the holes. then more throttle will open up more in the carby.

Yeah, I just did mine yesterday. Except I used araldite to block the 2 holes. Worked a treat and the extra power was exactly what the bike needed. They run out of puff really quickly if you don't change the slide or block the 2 holes.

Thanks for your responses I will pull the carby off on the weekend and have a look at it and modify it.

Just remember, there's three holes. One at the bottom of the slide and 2 inline with each other at the top. Block the 2 top holes only and wipe off any excess epoxy or whatever you use to ensure it doesn't snag in the body.

I have just finished doing the carby and what a difference it has made. I had one small hiccup when I started it and it would idle but not rev. I was about to pull the carby off when I realised I hadn't turned the fuel tap on.
    Thanks again

I have a 2007 model KLX 250, is it possible for someone to upload a picture of the carby slide? Before and after? I just started riding and doing my own maintenance so still learning the fine details...
