slow and steady, bit by bit.....deadline went out the window. sort of thinking it will be a slow build, until only motor left. then sell the blackbird and finance the motor rebuild.

After a ride up the dandenongs yesterday I'm not sure I will sell the blackbird. I need my sanity, and my sanity is holding on to a handlebar.
Has anybody presented an engineers certificate to vicroads?

I am looking at doing the Carby bank rebuild soon.
Question. I am whacking a 4 into 2 on this, like member z900a4 (I think) from mega cycle. Love the look and the performance is good.
I am also whacking on air pods, 4 x singles..
I am reckoning I go up one size in main jet, and raise the needle one notch for a starter to get in the ballpark. I figure the bike should at least start and hopefully run well the first instance on this setting.

Anybody have any ideas on my calculations here?

Well it's only an idea...but I'd think you were on the money as a start point. She'll certainly start regardless of fine tuning.
Does this mean you are close to start up now?

Well, not sure anyone is left here now, but I have a sneaky suspicion there may be a few lurking
Anyways.....Mr. PBZ1900 has graciously given me the chance to have a crack at the Z1-A project
Not promising anything speedy, but with luck I may get it all back together.

Yep. The time had come. A house move looming and a massive reduction in possessions just to make it possible led to this. I have gone from "i'm doing one up" to "awww, i used to have one of those " Anyways the upside is the blackbird gets new risers and new suspension in my last ditch effort to make it ergonomic for me. And there is no bits outside, in garage, under bed, in study, etc..even found the gauges at the last minute. The whole time ive had the Z1 has been a midlife career and income crisis and i could never throw the money needed at it.
On Saturday a taswegian pulled out of my driveway with a bike frame strapped on a roofrack next to a tinnie. What a sight.
I'm very happy knowing Glenn is taking this over. An agreement reached over a month or so with a true gentleman. Reduced the sorrow somewhat. Was really great to meet you and your wife Glenn, and remember the deal. Whatever bike the most bits end up in i want a ride next time I'm down there.
Sooo, get cracking. Next deadline is it's 50th birthday. You will make it easy.

I'm certain an old fella from out Mandurah way still frequents the hallways here as well.
However due to not being able to post pics here, I'll take the show over to the Kawasaki-Z-Classik group.
