    Default L PLATES

    Lets see wot happens.

A short story of how a simple L Plate can make an old fella happy as.

Back in 1975 l bought my first Zed, a second hand 1973 Z1 900 Jaffa from 1st owner (it was actually a Peter Stevens M/C's Melbourne demo, soon as l got L'fer Plates.

fixed pic up best l can

one of the mates on my Z1

this is our gang, Clive Kawa Mach 1V 750 H2 (purple haze), Bruce Yamahaha XS650 (vibrator) and my Z1, all sporting Lunatic Plates

on Dec 1st 1976 l bought a new 1977 Z1000A1 just after their release, with the cut down L Plate, these 3 pics when one day old

l did eventually get off L's on the Z1000 , but took a few years as the cops picked on me, proof pic here

late last year my young fella got his L's on my XT600E, big day for both us

proud moment not long back when he progressed to my Z1B (Jaffa look-A-like by previous owner), over the moon l am

    he's doing OK too

    so there you go

**** you're old Thats some fascinating history there, cheers for sharing.

Never had to suffer the indignity of 'L' plates due to uhm, well, errr lets just say Immaculate Conception !!!

Didn't get my first Z until '82 and that was a secondhand MkII that took me over the Nulla, crashed on the North shores of Sydney, threw me off at 90mph 20 kay out of Townsville and had when I met my future wife. Would love to know where that old girl ( the bike not the wife ) ended up.
If anyone came across a Z1000 NkII with a 3/4 fairing, tinted screen, painted in Black with yellow, red, orange squares come out and tell me all about her.

Back then on Army wages there was no way you could afford to keep multiple vehicles.
