    Default RIDE TO WYCHITELLA PUB

As usual I organised our annual weekend (5th & 6th) ride to the Wychitella Pub and my mate organises the pub accommodation and meal and to support this country pub. The meeting point to start the ride was Todd Road Service Centre just at the start of the Westgate bridge. 8:00am was the planned departure time but as usual the same old suspects were late and empty of fuel. We had a couple of riders not ride but go in cars as it was to wet and cold for them (getting soft). We left at 8:30am and to make up a bit of time headed down the boring Geelong road to Little River and went via the You Yangs and then for a quick road side stop just 3kms short of Bacchus Marsh as if these guys get into the cafe's it is hard to get them going again. We then headed off to the Ballan exit to go to Trentham via Greendale. Well it started to rain just before we turned off and then to make matters worse the temperature dropped another 5 degrees so it was bitterly cold and wet with the slippery winding road to Trentham. When we arrived at the bakery no parking on the road edges as these had turned into bog holes so we parked on the footpath next to the bakery. After we had warmed up and decided it would be a good idea to put our wet gear on now (duh) we headed off via Kilmore and then Watchbox Road into Burke and Wills Track then backtrack to Heathcote for a few supplies and a little rest before the ride up to the Axedale pub for lunch.
As the photos show a few of the bikes at Trentham (others were over the other side of the road) and the Axedale Pub, lost a couple more at Heathcote who were grog shopping so we took off to the pub as we were hungry and they could catch up. The other is inside the Wychitella Pub on the Saturday night with the two open fires going so nice and cosy.
After lunch it was the back way to Wychitella via boring straight roads but we all had a bit of a blast riding out there. Went via Goornong and Serpentine arriving at 4:00pm so a great day had in the country albeit a bit cooooooolishh.
Sunday is always a freelance day of riding as we just follow whoever is in front. Went home via Bridgewater where we stopped for morning tea and then in sunshine but cold air we rode via back roads to Taradale and then up a dead end twisty road then back again and then back roads to Pyalong for lunch at the Pyalong Pub. We normally don't do highways but it was a bit cool for the soft cruiser boys even with heated grips. lol
We headed off down the highway to Kilmore and down the Hume to get home. Arrived home at 6:30pm Sunday night in the pouring rain.
Ah another winter Wychitella Pub ride done and dusted. Now for the annual Bombala ride in November.

Don't need them. I am the rain man in our group and seem to find it if it is near.
