    Default 1979.............. kz1300............water pump

    hi,

i am in the process of replacing the water pump seal and all its relative bits to my kz1300.

i have taken out the impeller and seal and i am now down to the next step.

i have decided to not pull the engine apart and replace the shaft or the bevel gear as i believe they are both ok....

any tips from anyone as to how to extract the seal hidden behind the impeller that wedges into the head?.......see pic enclosed.

    cheers

Being a bush mechanic I would hit the outside of the seal with a centre punch or something similar then just prior it out
