ZXR 250 info
So here's all the ZXR 250 info I have rounded up over the last couple of years hope it helps, feel free to add or edit.
The ZXR 250 is a 249*cc (15.2*cu)*Liquid cooled, four stroke, transverse four cylinder, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder (16) made by Kawasaki. It was introduced in 1988, with a minor update for the 1990 model year, and a considerable redesign for 1991, after which the ZXR250 received only colour scheme changes until 1993 when a 39hp (29.08kw) and 180km/h (111mp/h) limit was introduced due to changes in Chinese law (excluding Malaysian models). Like the Honda CBR250, Yamaha FZR250 and Suzuki GSX-R250, the ZXR250 is noted for advanced, almost excessive, engineering and design.
Ninja ZXR-250 models
ZX-250 A1,A2,B1,B2: Produced from 1988 to 1991.
ZX-250 C1,C2,D1: Produced from 1991 to 2004 1991-1999 in Japan 1999-2004 in Malaysia (these models were only produced in a silver and black colour scheme). This bike was unofficially re branded as the ZX-2R or ZXRR in Australia by importers.
An SP (sports production) model known as the ZXR-250R was also available from 1990-1993 Known as the B1,B2 and D models. These models have CVKD 32*mm (1.3*in) keihin carburettors, different 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear ratios, a larger exhaust, different CDI (higher power curve, no speed limiter, 19,000rpm rev limiter and no hp limiter) rear suspension . The B2 models also had a single seat cowl.
All four of the major Japanese motorcycle manufacturers produced a sporty, high-revving, 4-cylinder, 4-stroke 250cc motorcycle capable of producing up to 45 hp (34 kW). They are the Honda CBR250, Kawasaki ZXR250, Suzuki GSX-R250 and the Yamaha FZR250. With limited exceptions, these bikes were generally only officially available in Japan. However they (particularly the CBR250 and ZXR250) were available in the rest of the world as grey market imports
What’s a grey import?
Grey import vehicles are new or used motor vehicles and motorcycles legally imported from another country through channels other than the maker's official distribution system. The synonymous term parallel import is sometimes substituted.
Car makers and local distributors sometimes regard grey imports as a threat to their network of franchised dealerships, but independent distributors don't mind since more cars of an odd brand bring in money from service and spare parts. Also, car makers frequently arbitrage markets, setting the price according to local market conditions so the same vehicle will have different real prices in different territories. In order for the arbitrage to work, there must be some means to reduce, eliminate, or reverse whatever savings could be achieved by purchasing the car in the lower priced territory. Examples of such barriers include regulations preventing import or requiring costly vehicle modifications. Grey import vehicles circumvent this profit maximization strategy. In some countries, such as Vietnam and Australia, the import of grey-market vehicles has largely been banned.

What oil is the best to use? I know that I need 10W40, but Repsol moto racing, Motul 300V, Silkolene comp4 or Castrol...?
who gives a rats ar$e
Would I need the 300V because of the 18,000rpm's or is the 7100 range ok, & what's the major difference? Sorry if I am posting in the wrong thread, but I am specifically asking about this bike. Is there an "Oils aint oils" thread or something?
What was the standard size main and pilot jets as fitted to the bikes sold here in Australia ?
What oil filter do they take, & is there a good engine flush around that is suitable for wet clutches?
