    Default Track days in SA?

Hello everyone I'm new to sports bikes, having ridden naked bikes before now, so I'd be a beginner at track days for sure. Where are track days near adelaide? How do you go about doing them?

Do many people head out to track days in SA?

Thanks for any advice, I'm feeling a bit limited by keeping my licence and worring about the things that can happen on public roads.

Once or twice a year Bill's Motorcycles usually run a track day at Mallala (I think I got the "L"s right). Though I didn't see any advertised this November (I live nearby), which means little.
I've seen others advertised, may be advertised through (or organised by) Riding SA.

Mallala is the only venue used that I am aware of.

Mac Park is a great little circuit - a few of my mates from KSRC will be there for the Boxing Day meeting. I think one of the local SA Ducati clubs also runs semi-regular track days at Mac Park ??

Thanks guys, champions at mallallalala seems like a good start. Its a shame mac parks so far.
Do most people buy and fit a set of race tyres for the day or should I just use my Diablo rosso corsa's? I rekon they wont make it through the day and make it home to adelaide. If I have an accident is it covered in my insurance. Do I carry my high school diploma around? What if it's incliment weather? Can you wash clothes in the dishwasher? Man so many things to think about.

naa mate dont need race tyres.
insurance will not cover u on the track
u dont need ur high school diploma as that is a sign of sanity, leave it at home.
inclement weather means flooding... they have held days in the wet and heat.
u can wash ur clothes in the dishwasher, altho they might come out lookn like plates.
it sounds like a big deal doing a track day but its very casual...
u need full leathers, boots, gloves and austalian standards helmet
ur bike needs to be up to scratch, no leaks, still have brake pads. chain about right. taped lights.
they hold groups. so u start in the slowest untill u find ur lines and pace.
easy as rock up, pay, choose group, bike gets checked, hit the track

If you are ever thinking of hiring a bike because of no insurance THINK AGAIN and read the fine print as a major off can cost you up to $5K so it is cheaper to buy a track day bike like a lot do and then just send it as it is not your pride and joy.
    Have fun though everybody does!!!!

Hey crenjamin, john here, Ive done a few days now and recomend street tyres as you prob wont heat slicks enough for good grip, also have quality riding gear(do you have a $100 head or a $500 head?) ambulance cover is also a must. Listen to the officials and dont be a tool cause they will kick you out. but mate you will have a hoot, you will be suprised at your skill level when you get back on the road.
    Stay Upright John
