I have done high speeds on quiet country roads when no one was around so i dont think im that bad but i spose i should have known comments like that would attract that kind of response so from now on ill just post boring comments on how i am the most law abiding citizen and bullshit through my teeth so i dont upset anyone. so ninjavixen maybe when you get a real bike you to may want to unleash its power on occasion their is nothing wrong with that is there oh well i have had my 2 cents worth so let the abuse begin.bye
    Not the best first impression from either perspective buddy. You see a lot of people here have friends or atleast know of people that have died die to high speed accidents due to recklessness, when a bike is speeding you're vulnerability to crashing is increased 10fold due to a slow down of reaction time, considering motorbike riders are about as exposed as a duck in a shooting gallery a lot of the community frowns on that sort of behaviour, it's not a personal attack on you by any means but the behaviour mentioned above. You'll find most of the people on the forums are very very friendly, helpful and more then happy to be resourceful if possible, already suggested you try a meetup, just enjoy you're time here

    Well said PT .. Open forum will get all sorts of responses .. thats what I love about the place .. The personal stuff comes out sometimes as people can have strong opinions but to their credit the mods get on top of it pretty quick.

    Please don't think you need to be boring Akra,, stirring the pot in here is acceptable as long as the comments dont become offensive or personal attacks. It's a pretty good bunch in here

    enjoy mate

    Cheers

    Thanks for the comments zzr250-pt i do enjoy the forum still feeling my way around as i am not very good with computers. i do not wish to start arguements or be frowned upon i have better things to do with my time like play with my kids and enjoy family time or RIDE and of course i agree the faster you go the more danger you are in thats common knowledge but we all could die in our sleep or in a car crash or any other reason i do also know of people that have died due to bike crashes one of my good mates wheels has been in a wheelchair for 6 years now due to a car cutting him off on his GSXR 600 hence his nick name wheels, that how ever does not mean that i will not take the odd risk people need to live their lives and take the odd risk its called living you never know what the future will bring so dont live with doubt or fear that something may or may not happen you will never know.Thanks for your feedback though i do not have any friends on here but only come on 3 days ago so i will see what happens i am going on the toy run next weekend from glenelg to hahndorf in the Adelaide hills to help raise money for kids who may not have the oppurtunity to get gifts for christmas there is also other charities involved in the run so it will be great to be a part of suppossed to be 10,000 plus bikes there should be great it has all different bikes involved and a police escort too. So you see i am not just a hoon i am just a bloke who loves his bike and usually just uses it to comute around and yes occasionally give it a squirt that is after all what i got the bike for. i hope people do not write me off due too a maybe bad first impression i will how ever not lose any sleep if that is what it comes down too anyways its great too get some constructive critisism safe riding all bye guys.

    Good on you for going on a charity run, is it a starlight children's event by any chance?
    Let us know how it goes, we also love pics here if you are inclined to take a few happy snaps on you're camera phone we do like to see fellow riders in meetups/riding events. Ride safe!

    it isnt a good idea admiting to breaking the law on a public forum as the law can catch up with you.
    not many riders stick to the speed limit anyway unless they ride a 250, in saying that every1 has there own pace fast or slow wat ever they are comfortable with.
    as far as ninjavixen sayn to grow up..... thats just somthing old ppl say.
    ride safe

    thanks danzx10r im not to worried about writing things like that on the net for all the police know im talking **** and they need to catch you in the act or its all here say i think some people get paranoid. you are right though a lot of people lie that they dont speed if you have a 600 or 1000 hell maybe even a 250 you want to know what it will do and chances are when your on a quiet road when no ones around you will test it out thats all part of it. people just dont want to admit it because of fear of law inforcement or friends or others on the forum thinking bad of them anyone who knows me will soon see im over all that and i am the way i am and wont change for no one but i respect all forms of riding my all time favourite riding is trials riding and thats probably the slowest motor bike sport of all time incredibly hard though. thanks for your post.,

    Welcome aboard Ackra.
    Always good to find another from South Oz.

    I think you got off on the wrong foot. Don't worry, you'll find plenty here who can justify their sports bikes.
    But, and some of this has already been said:
    There's a time and a place for everything;
    I care not whether or not you write yourself off, that is between you and your maker(s). I really care if you write someone else off, especially me or mine;
    One of the great beauties of the Adelaide Hills is there are plenty of roads where you can push yourself and your bike to the limit without losing sight of the speed limits.

    Take it easy and stay safe.
    Regards,
    Arrne

    GT 550 (Rattle & Hum); a walk on the mild side.
    CX 500 Custom (Bleu Merde); every solution has a problem. Moving on.
    KZ 440C1 (Panama Red); he'll be back.
    KZ 440A1 (Glass-and-a-Half)
    KZ 650 D3 (Christine); %@$%# stolen- many years ago.
    KZ1000E1 (Growler)
    GL500I (); with 650 donk!
    Running old bikes is a matter of dollars and sense; I usually lack both.
