  1. Hi I'm and older bike rider in my late 50's - starting again...thought I would buy a new bike but couldn't find anything...ended up building the sort of bike I like out of an 83 GPZ750...did it in my shed at home. I finished the bike a couple of weeks ago and have ridden about 750k so far. When I build it I took everything off the frame including the oil cooler...probably where I went wrong it seems. Last Friday the engine seized....when I pulled it down the head and barrels came off pretty easy to discover main bearing on #1 is seized. It must have something to do with blocking off the oil cooler. When I decided to remove the cooler I didn't consider the oil flow may have gone via the oil cooler, I thought the oil would just circulate through the cooler off line ... I need to check that out but can't seem to find any map of where the oil flows. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I hope I can contribute to this forum. Cheers Brian
