Saturday morning

Me and Ang and Jack (Ang's neighbour VN800) met up with Greeny and Fiona at BP blacksoil and rode an uneventful relaxing cruise out to Gatton for the swap meet.
We got in for the pricely sum of 3 bux, parked up and were immediately struck with a vision.

It was at the showgrounds and let me tell you there was some kit there. Bits and pieces of every bike imaginable, stalls, accessories, you name it. Total area of stalls etc was probably about a football field and there were thing like a complete H2750 in bits on the ground, a Z1100 complete, guys with boxes and boxes of obscure bolts and fasteners for the 300 engine case variations for a 1920 matchless or similar, tools and just cr@p. An amazing array of beautiful junk. We only got one lap of the entire place before it was time to go.

Greeny and Fiona were under orders and had to split, but the rest of us decided to head to Toowoomba for caffeine and ride back through Hampton to Esk and then home.
Toowoomba to Hampton is a bit of a dismal stretch with specialist motorcycle graters installed along the side of the road. (wire barriers)
We were taking it pretty easy and pulled up for a smoke at the spot where Christo stopped after sliding on a dead bird on the way to Cooyar.
As we puffed our way towards death, we noticed a road which said Ravensbourne National Park on it's sign.
We went up it (its only about a half a kilometre) and discovered a lookout which faces toward Gatton and you can see nearly the whole valley.

A hidden gem.

We got rain as we got to the warrego hwy and ducked in the servo. As did others (Darling Downs HOG)

Then we buggered off home ... end

Nice pics Cletus, really nice. I love stumbling on those flukey spots you only discover when you take an unexpected turn or detour.

Thanks mate. The pics don't do it justice. You'll have to ride up and see it yourself.
