ok...here we go...
dump truck parked half way across two way street, on an angle...driver was out of vehicle opening entrance gate...i had just turned into the street and was heading in left lane towards dump truck in right lane...my lane absolutely clear ...f***king impatient driver ...which i had no idea was there suddenly decides to go around the dump truck onto the wrong side of the road heading in my direction...i gritted my teeth ready for my right leg to be amputated...as i swerved to miss this vehicle ...which incidently...had no intention of creeping forwards to check oncoming traffic...continued at a constant speed and did not brake even after the fact...
i reckon i could have licked his front bonnet if i were to lean over as i passed...
does anyone have a punching bag they could lend me for an hour or so...i'm furious...

nice work on avoiding the idot *high five* ... I would have been very tempted to turn around and follow him until he got a red light ... Then politely removed his drivers side mirror and stuck it up his exhaust pipe :p

I'd have gone with fifty's suggestion. That's just outright ridiculous.
Pissant cagers! *shakes fist in the air*

You have done the right thing Ben, let it go, he will get what he deserves some other time, karma. Just happy that you are still in one piece mate.

Good to hear that you're OK.

Hopefully the driver learns something from it - think about what would have happened if you had been driving a cage? (but it's only one of those crazy bikers, so it's OK - double )

Take care!

That sort of thing's not much fun - while on my old bike I had someone pull out of a service station across my path, THEN they saw me , panicked and hit the brakes, stopping in my path! Just at the last moment, as I got closer, both brakes hard on and the back tyre skating sideways, they realised they shouldn't have stopped and hit the throttle, moving just in time to avoid me parking in their back seat. I have a vivid memory of looking down at the corner of their rear bumper and being certain my front tyre would have left a mark on it as I went past! Hopefully that scared them enough to ensure they look more carefully before pulling out into traffic.

Karma, as the others have said, will deal with him.

That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.

Glad you came thru ok

it makes your heart skip a few beats...it's also a good learning curve...or learning spike should i say...i guess it's good in a way that our miss fortunate experiences may just help another in looking out in the future...

I'm new to the forum and not experienced at this but this type of thing seems to happen daily. It seems you've just got to have 4 pairs of eyes out at all times. Just this morning riding to work some w??nker decides to turn out in front of me. Couldn't believe it!!! It takes a lot of work to keep the right side up. Keep an eye out guys.

I was riding with my cousin in Melbourne and he was was cut off in the traffic by an IDIOT in an Escort - very nearly a disaster and only luck kept him upright. We turned around and I enjoyed the chase. I also enjoyed watching Nick remove the drivers' side mirror with one swipe of his leather clad fist. And the way he altered the drivers view by squashing the external sun visor all over the windscreen was classic. No words were exchanged. Then we left the moron on the escort sitting in the intersection shaking and smelling of urine.

Hey Ben I'm sure glad your ok mate and I'm sure we ALL have had some moments like this specially if you have been a rider for some time and the old percentage things states that the more your on the road the more chance you have of being in a spot of trouble.

But the thing I'm confused about is this "Karma" bit ........... is that a very very large tree falling across the car and driver or is it a HUGE whole opening up in the middle of a road just where he is driving at the time ?????

Good to hear your not hurt Ben and we ALL can only hope an angel is around us if and when anything like this happens to us :)

Stay Safe & Upright my AKRF family :)

Hey Guys,

I have a few stories to tell of my own... One D Head I got into an issue with tried to wipe my mate and I of our bikes, we chased him and lng story short he ended up reversing into a car outside a police station that earned a court appearance and about $4K worth of damage with no insurance!!! Ha is all i can say, but i was bloody stupid to chase him down, at least he learned a lesson. Have heaps of other road rage stories and the moral of the story is.... IT IS NOT WORTH IT, best to ride away and be thankful to be upright!

yeah, plenty of idiots out there. Just flip them the bird, yell some expletives under your helmet and keep riding. Karma will take care of the rest......

Years ago I had one where she came out of a side street "slowly" looking for traffic. I made eye contact, but she kept on coming. WTF????? She was looking THROUGH me not AT me. Went up on the tram lines (was in the cbd) lucky it wasnt wet, as I was leaning pretty heavily just trying to avoid her.

Never assume I guess........
