Hey everyone, I'm off to SA for clipsal 500 in couple weeks and looking for a more interesting route than going str8 to Adelaide via Western Highway. Posting this in both the Vic section & SA section of forum.

Ill be leaving from Melton at 9.30am & want to be at my mates place in Greenwith by around 8pm at latest, so ill be starting on the Western Highway heading towards Ararat to start with, from there I see a number of options I could take besides the highway so let me know what you think, would be much appreciated as I don't really want to go str8 the whole way.

Slip on down the GOR across to Mt Gambier. A lot more scenic than any highway.

Cheers and Beers.

Whip up to Mildura, Broken Hill; then Wilcania and Bourke then a quick whip across to Alice and down that way. Hah Hah!

BOB the only change I would do with that is at Wellington ( just before Tailem Bend ) there's a ferry to take you across the creek & then head for Maccelsfield rd / Mt Barker etc Then in to Adelaide :2cents:
cheers pete

+1 on that piece of road as long it is not raining for GOR piece of road I do that route (heading down to Queenscliff for the WSBK's) at least once a year.
