The 155 Anniversary of Eureka will take place on December 6, with a ride leaving from the outward bound Shell Servo, this is one of the best multi club rides for the year with Hundreds of riders taking part.

Join the THUNDER RUN into Ballarat and celebrate the Freedom our Nation enjoys thanks to the Heroes of Eureka and the stand they took against oppression of their time.
The ride leaves at 10am but you can start gathering at 8.30am onwards.

Sorry Bubba
I married a direct decendant of Peter Lalor and i am to scared to disobey her.
Is it normally around this time of year ? if so perhaps we could lock it in for next year.

It would be so appropriate for Easy and PK to go on this run given their behaviour at Thornton

It is a good run straight up the highway plenty of pace, it is as it says a thunder run.
For those with wives that do not under stand or do not ride them selves you are missing a good run with 3 or 400 like minded soles, for those that can make it see ya there Sunday."Get your motors running"

OK, who's in, I'll be there, it's gonna be a slow ride from Shell to western ring road, there's road works everywhere, does my gammy carpal tunnel clutch hand wonders, It would be good if they could build the roads properly in the first place, also went on the monash Sat morn, it was worse.

Just a heads up for those attending this ride, it will be at the speed limit this year, kind of ruins the "spirit" of the ride but we (the MRAV) have heard we will have 2 unmarked bikes in attendance on the day (despite never having an incident on the ride) and quite possibly a rego checking car parked somewhere along the route, as someone else mentioned, it's getting so you can't fart anymore without ASIO on your back..

I knock off work 7am, if I manage 2 hours sleep I might get there too :)

Yeah well daresay they won't be riding the BMW's that everyone knows about that are plain cop bikes, have heard there are some plain R1's about too, but yes, as you say Ben, look for 2 blokes with short hair, no beards hanging around together, they'll either be the coppers or horses hoofs (am I allowed to say that nowadays??) :)

Well, we all set off, Turk was leading, pre ride brief, Turk will be going
80km/pr no overtaking him, I think he's speedo was alot out, great ride, pic's to come.
Plenty of bling.
Plenty of Nomad's, didn't see any Green one's.

Turk's speedo is often out, especially on that run, I gues the expected escorts were a no show then?? Always plenty of cruisers on that ride too, not much of a ride for us sportsbike riders, we prefer the scenic routes as a norm :P Why would he be going 80k anyways when the Western Hwy is mostly 110??

I think that was for the media.
Thanks for the post about the short haired cops, I had one bloke come up to me , to try and get off a speeding ticket, and another that wanted to take me into to toilets.

Given you're only going from Eltham/Melton/Werribee/City to Williamstown, unlikely Ian :) Toy Run is traditionally a slower ride anyways as it's not about getting from point a-point b in a hurry, it's about trying to show people that not all motorcyclists are drug running paedophiles.

Make sure you do deadly we have quite a few 900's in the group with all sorts of good bling ideas to check out.

Glad to here you spotted us MC as you are aware though Nomads always stand out in a crowd they were the best looking bikes on the run and by far the quickest cruisers on the day.

Must admit though the 80K speed limit was a tad under stated the only time my speedo saw double figures was leaqving the Shell the rest of the time It was in the triple didgets.

10-12-09, 07:41 PM
i had a sneaking suspicion that 80k was a tad conservative for a run.

lucky there were no green ones on the run bubba for as we know they are the faster color.

mickdundee
10-12-09, 07:46 PM
I thought it was the red ones, the gospel according to Kevin Bloody Wilson at least.. and if your green nad is so fast how come everyone was overtaking you through the twisties? :)

madcow
10-12-09, 07:52 PM
i said the color was fastest not the rider mike.....

Car Ching I think you won that one Madcow lol
I cant believe how no one else has cottoned on, the lucky bugger might just have gotten away with it.
You know that logic dictactes that the only way mike could see you being overtaken by everyone is if he was actually behind you and they were all overtaking hime as well. I am just pointing out the logical here not making accusations lol
Not me I want to get on with everyone

By us sif we were simply offering an alternate view point us the original talking point as a starting point, rather than use it as a limiting and defining description of the discussion. I think our action has been misinterpreted
